APPEAL TO THE ADVOCATES OF TELANGANA
Dear Respected Seniors and Fellow Advocates of Telangana,
I am Uma Rani G, a practising advocate for 23 continuous years. I am a first-generation advocate, practising across all districts of Telangana. This profession is not just my work — it is my life, my identity, my purpose.
Due to court commitments and time constraints, I may not be able to meet each of you personally during this election period. I sincerely regret this. But I assure you — I will meet you whenever possible, and I am always available to you.
I have come forward in this election not for power or position, but as your representative. I am one among you. This election belongs to all advocates of Telangana, and I will work tirelessly to represent your voice, your struggles, and your rights.
Why I Am Standing for You
- 23 years of continuous court practice — not theory, but lived reality.
- First-generation advocate — I know struggle, not privilege.
- I have seen the Bar before and after digitisation, reforms, and welfare schemes.
- I understand the problems of juniors, seniors, women advocates, district court advocates, and first-generation lawyers.
- I am independent, not controlled by politics, groups, or influence.
The Reality Every Advocate Faces Today
- Juniors struggling to survive the early years of practice.
- Welfare schemes exist on paper, but often do not reach advocates.
- Lack of transparency and communication from the Bar Council.
- Women advocates face unique professional and structural challenges.
- Safety, dignity, and respect of advocates are increasingly under threat.
What a Bar Council Member Must Do (Under the Advocates Act, 1961)
- Protect the rights, dignity, and independence of advocates.
- Ensure fair and transparent administration of welfare schemes.
- Represent advocates before the Government and Judiciary.
- Strengthen professional standards and legal education.
My Commitment to You
- Advocate Welfare — Transparent implementation of welfare schemes; timely access to medical, disability, and death benefits.
- Junior & First-Generation Advocates — Practical mentorship based on real court experience; training in drafting, advocacy, and court craft.
- Women Advocates — Equal voice in Bar Council decisions and a safe, dignified professional environment.
- Protection & Dignity — Strong stand against attacks on advocates and firm representation before authorities.
A Personal Appeal
The issues and challenges mentioned above are identified by me, based on my experience and observations. I am always ready to listen, accept suggestions, and act upon them. I am fully available to each of you — for discussion, guidance, or support.
I humbly request each of you to cast just ONE preferential vote — for experience, dedication, and someone who truly understands your struggles.
With respect, trust, and commitment,
Uma Rani G
Bar Council of Telangana
(One among you. Your representative.)
